About Me

Team Lead & Geospatial Software Engineer

My name is Marcel Siegmann, and I am a Team Lead and Geospatial Software Engineer at EOMAP, with over ten years of experience in geospatial and cloud technologies. I focus on transforming complex Earth observation data into products that people can actually use. My obsession lies in the intersection of cloud-native architecture and location intelligence, where performance, cost efficiency, and a strong user experience all matter.

Over the years, I have built and scaled satellite processing and API platforms in the cloud and contributed to award-winning frontend solutions that enhance decision-making with a strong focus on user experience. I really enjoy pushing ideas from quick prototypes to reliable production systems. I am particularly interested in the intersection of modern geospatial building blocks and serverless cloud architectures, where I love to combine proven open-source tools to create something new.
